From Fitness to Fashion in 15 Minutes

We’re all jugglers. We have so many things to complete each day and often are running from one thing to the next. I meet so many people who say they wished they had the time to workout. The secret is that you have to make time! A quality workout shouldn’t take you more than an hour. With the proper intensity, you can have a great session in 20 to 30 minutes. Don’t let time be an excuse for not moving and celebrating your body. On the other hand, you don’t have to let your gym time dig into your social life either.

Here are my favorite ways to pull your look together in 15 minutes or less after a workout. This way, you won’t have to cut your workout or your plans short! To begin, you must know that the most important asset to making the switch from fitness to fashion is your gym bag. Having the right tools in there can make it a whole lot easier to look fabulous, fast!

Check out what’s inside:

Witch Hazel

My top secret gym bag must-have is witch hazel. It’s plant-based, fights bacteria and isn’t drying. But, it does take out the smell, cleanses the skin and leaves you refreshed. Put the witch hazel on a cotton pad, wipe along and into your hairline around the forehead, behind the ears and at the nape of your neck. Then dry your hair with a blow dryer.

Dry Shampoo

The next step is pulling out your dry shampoo. My three faves, with different price points, (insert winking emoji) are Dry Bar Detox Dry Shampoo, Redken Pillow Proof and Oribe Dry Shampoo. Each of these come in travel sizes so they can fit nicely in your bag. Take sections of hair and spray at the roots, massage into your roots and scalp, then style as normal.

Shower Substitutes

Let’s face it, showering for us ladies can take a lot of time. If you can use a shower cap and rinse off quickly, then, of course, a shower is always awesome. On heavier exercise days when you don’t have time for a shower, body wipes can be your best friend. On lighter exercise days, body spray will do the job. Lastly, deodorant is a must and perfume is always a plus! Make sure any fragrance you use after your workout doesn’t irritate your skin or have harsh chemicals. After your workout, your pores are wide open from sweating and can easily absorb toxins or irritants.

Face Wipes

Face wipes make it easy to remove oils, sweat and makeup residue without washing off your mascara. This sets you up perfectly to redo your face makeup and create a fresh look fast.

Delicates

Always carry an extra pair of underwear, bra and socks in your gym bag. You never know when you might need it. On the days when hitting the shower isn’t in the cards, these extras can be lifesavers.

Wardrobe

Whether you’re sporting your favorite fitness leggings or a pair of jeans, you can transition from gym-goer to fashionista in no time. Some essentials include a solid colored tank top, a chunky knit or wrap sweater, a long necklace and cute boots. If you need to be boardroom-ready, invest in a sharp blazer and throw it on with some classic heels.

Finishing Touches

Put these items in your gym bag and you won’t have a problem transitioning from beast mode to beauty. Throw your hair up in a sleek ponytail, a bun or a messy top knot. Top off your look with bright lipstick and tackle the rest of your day!
